Murano Glass "Lorelei" by Loredano Rosin Signed Vintage Made in Venice Italy

This very rare piece was created by Loredano Rosin prior to his death in 1992. The amber color is especially difficult to find. Signed by the Artist. 
Loredano Rosin is an Italian sculptor best known for his traditional use of Murano glass to depict stylized figures and animals. Adopting the ancient Italian technique of Calcedonia, he used silver nitrate to create subtle colored stripes on the figures. Rosin worked as a master glassblower at Salviati & Company, collaborating with artists such as Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall, among others, to realize their visions in glass. Born in Venice, Italy in 1936, he studied with Romano Zanelli and Kocui Saol as a teenager before establishing his own studio and working with his brothers Mirko and Dino Rosin. . His works are currently in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The artist died in Venice, Italy in 1992.
