Tinker Zoo and Other Things Too Playset No. 227 Spalding Bros, Evanston, IL 1968
Here up for sale is a used incomplete Tinker Zoo and Other Things Too playset made by Spalding Bros, Inc. in Evanston Illinois, dating from 1968. There are 118 out of the original 125 pieces included. The wooden round pieces that some of the dowels are designed to fit into are missing. Still good for parts. The dowels are wood, while the other parts are plastic. Anything not mentioned or not shown below is missing. It includes the following:
8 - green wooden 8" long dowel sticks
9 - orange plastic endcaps for dowel sticks, some of them applied to the dowls
8- red wooden 5.125" long dowel sticks
9 - blue wooden ~ 3.4" long dowel sticks
20 - orange wooden 2" long dowel sticks, one of them having a 7/8" splintered section
17 - yellow wooden ~1.25" long dowel sticks
4 - greenish disks ~ 1.5" diameter
4 - white disks ~1.5" diameter
2 - blue oval shaped flat perforated flat pieces, each about 7.375" long
1 - white rectangular perforated flat piece, about 7.25" long
2 - orange rectangular perforated flat pieces, each about 4" x 3.625" long
4 - yellow oval perforated flat pieces, each about 3.375" long
6 - yellow perforated triangular pieces, each about 3.375" tall
8- red perforated triangular pieces, each about 2.5" wide by 1" tall
3 - orange perforated triangular pieces, each about 1.125" wide by 1.25" tall
7 - greenish perforated disks, each 3/4" diameter
4 - orange disks, each 3/4" diameter by about 1/4" wide
1 - orange perforated hemisphere shaped piece, a little under 3" diameter
1 - white perforated hemisphere shaped piece, a little over 1.75" diameter
Plus 2 color sheets showing examples of ideas on things that can be built with one or more of these type of tinker No. 227 and 237 zoo sets. These sheets have numerous tears, creases, and bends.
The cardboard tube-can has some dent damage at the top, but the can lid still screws on fine. Dimensions of tube-can are about 10.75" tall by a little under 4.25" diameter. Overall this set is nice for adding to other set parts to make larger constructions.
