Released in 1977, during Japan's golden age of hi-fi audio, the Sony PS-X9 is, in a word, a "masterpiece of a turntable." Originally designed for professional broadcasting, the PS-X9 was dedicated to the highest quality reproduction. For this reason, it is an extremely rare piece of equipment, with perhaps only about 2000 units produced (this figure is an estimate). Therefore, it is a very rare instrument, with only perhaps 2000 units produced (this figure is an estimate). the PS-X9 has a practical aesthetic for studio and broadcast room use, with attractive features such as oversized platters, a tactile control interface, and a body suitable for installation in a professional console. The PS-X9's sound has been described by listeners as "exceptional," and many people who have heard this turntable think it is the best sound they have ever heard. The PS-X9 comes with Sony's highly acclaimed XL45Ⅱ Pro moving coil cartridge.

This turntable is in very good condition with very little wear (see photos). There are some minor scratches. The dust cover has some minor scratches.
*The painted surface of the tone arm is discolored and the paint is lifting due to oxidation (Please see the photos).
**I would like to inform you that the mechanism that automatically raises the needle after listening to the end of the record is no longer working.
