Rare Vintage Hermes "La Marine en Bois" Silk Scarf celebrates old boats. Originally designed by Hugo Grygkar in 1957. It has re-issued many times, in different colors, formats and variations. (reissues including at least once in the eighties and most recently in 2002). It features a nautical theme on ivory background, with green pistachio borders. The present piece here for sale is an original 1957 edition, pre-copyright period. This is a very classy and stylish scarf, 100 % pure silk with heavy and soft feel like vintage Hermès scarves have. Hugo Grygkar not only designed the very first carré for Hermès, but he also became Hermès’ most prolific artist. Classic assorted tones of ivory, blue, pistachio and yellow. No care-tag, hand-rolled edges, crafted in France.
