An original Art Nouveau sterling silver and oak dressing table mirror. The oak frame is mounted with the repousse silver featuring marigold type flowers and buds. Lovely sinuous form conforming to the sculpted back. The mirror is a custom cut thick bevelled piece of high quality and still in very good order. The mirror is of free standing easel back design.
The hallmark is for Birmingham 1906 and the maker is Lawrence Emanuel of the famous Birmingham jewellery quarter. A very pretty piece.
Condition
Good for period, some sharpness of the edges at the two main floral elements. Possibly some minor damage at these points although the cut-out styling seems to match. One small hole in the silver to the top large floral element. Hinge stiff and not very flexible. Slight foxing/marks to the mirror silvering but perfectly good to use.
