G or good:  indicating lens with some scratches or dent from normal wear

F or fair: indicating lens with many scratches or dent on the body.

Mechanically, they all work the same so the difference is just about the cosmetic and reflects on the price. Items in FAIR rating may have more wear marks but nothing excessive.
