cream-colored pages; the
covers, which have retained good reflectivity, and centerfolds are firmly
attached; most of the issues have a curl and do not sit flat. Other notables

British Chess Magazine (September 1986, No. 9, Volume 106) - The front cover top right-hand corner has an
approx. 2 1/4" light crease which extends into approx. the first 10 pages;
the spine has some stress lines - the biggest approx. 1/4" near
"Thorn"; the back cover bottom right-hand edge has some wrinkling.
British Chess Magazine (October 1986, No. 10, Volume 106) - The front cover top left-hand corner has some
wear and rounding, the top right-hand corner has an approx. 1/16" crease,
the spine has some stress lines, the bottom right-hand edge has an approx.
1" crease with an approx. 1/8" crease at the corner; the back cover
has a light indent at the top right-hand edge, there is a circular indent at the
left-hand edge near "latest FIDE" and some staining at the right-hand
side at "Vaganyan".
British Chess Magazine (November 1986, No. 11, Volume 106) - The front cover has what appears to be printer's
ink at the spine, there is an approx. 1/2" crease at the top left-hand
edge near "Magazine", there are various light creases/indents at the
bottom center and right-hand edges, the bottom right-hand corner has an approx.
1/8" light crease; the back cover has some indenting/creasing at the top
right-hand corner, there appears to be printer's ink at the spine, the bottom
left-hand corner has an approx. 1 3/4" crease, the bottom right-hand
corner has an approx. 1" crease.
British Chess Magazine (August 1987, No. 8, Volume 107) - The front cover spine has some stress lines -
the biggest approx. 1" near Magnus' arm, the top right-hand edge has an
approx. 1/2" indent/crease; the back cover top left-hand edge has some
small blemishes, the top right-hand edge has some staining.
British Chess Magazine (November 1987, No. 11, Volume 107) - The front cover top right-hand corner has an
approx. 1 3/4" crease, there is a blemish at the top right-hand edge, the
spine has an approx. 1/2" stress line at mid-center, the bottom right-hand
corner has an approx. 1/2" crease; the back cover has a stain at the
bottom right-hand side starting at "China" and ending at
"(USA)"; the bottom left-hand corner has a light approx. 4" crease.
British Chess Magazine (January 1988, No. 1, Volume 108) - The front cover right-hand center edge has a
smudge (a fingerprint?), the bottom right-hand edge and corner have waviness
and creasing; the back cover bottom left-hand corner has an approx. 3/4"
crease.
British Chess Magazine (March 1988, No. 3, Volume 108) - The front cover top right-hand corner has a
horizontal marking near the top staple, the right-hand bottom edge has a stain
near the queen, the bottom right-hand edge and corner have creasing/indenting;
the back cover has circular stains at the left-hand side in
"distinguished" and "in moving", the right-hand edge
has smudges near "the men" and "34663".
British Chess Magazine (April 1988, No. 4, Volume 108) - The front
cover top right-hand corner has an approx. 1/16" tear, the bottom
right-hand edge and corner has waviness/creasing; the back cover bottom
left-hand edge and corner has creasing (at the corner the crease is approx. 1
3/4" and there is a brown stain).
British Chess Magazine (May 1988, No. 5, Volume 108) - The front cover top center has some pencil tip
indents (under "Chess", around "Magazine" and
"0440"), the right-hand edge has two approx. 1/2" indents (near
the center and below the photo); the back cover top right-hand edge has some
light creasing.
British Chess Magazine (June 1988, No. 6, Volume 108) - The front cover top right-hand corner has an
approx. 1/16" crease, the bottom right-hand edge has some spotting near
"Arena" and "Contest"; the back cover mid-center top edge
has a light approx. 3" crease, the bottom left-hand corner has an approx.
1/2" crease.
British Chess Magazine (September 1988, No. 9, Volume 108) - The front cover bottom right-hand edge has some
creasing near "Time" and "Speelman"; the back cover has
some wear at the top center edge under "Magazine".
British Chess Magazine (February 1989, No. 2, Volume 109) - The front cover bottom right-hand corner has a
stain and an approx. 1/8" crease; the back cover appears to have printer's
ink at the top edge, the bottom right-hand edge has a crease and a small smudge
near "Hastings".
British Chess Magazine (March 1989, No. 3, Volume 109) - The front
cover top left-hand corner has a small smudge near "Magazine", the
spine appears to have printer's ink, the top right-hand corner has an approx.
1/2" crease, the bottom right-hand corner has a light approx. 1 1/2"
crease; the back cover bottom edge has staining or paper loss from
"was" to the right-hand corner.
British Chess Magazine (June 1989, No. 6, Volume 109) - The front cover top right-hand corner has an
approx. 3/4" crease, the bottom right-hand corner has a light approx.
2" crease; the back cover has some light indenting at the top edge.
British Chess Magazine (July 1989, No. 7, Volume 109) - The front
cover top left-hand edge has small stains above and next to the top staple, the
top right-hand corner has a small vertical stain and indent, the bottom
right-hand corner has an approx. 2 1/2" crease; the back cover bottom left-hand
corner has an approx. 3/4" crease and the right-hand corner has an approx.
1" crease.
British Chess Magazine (December 1989, No. 12, Volume 109) - The front cover top
left-hand edge has some staining at "Magazine", the top right-hand
corner has a light approx. 1/8" crease, there are some creases/indents at
the bottom left-hand corner and blemishes at the bottom right-hand side and
corner; the back cover has some staining at the bottom left-hand edge at
"P.J." and "Oakley", there is some wrinkling/creasing at
the bottom right-hand side and corner.
British Chess Magazine (February 1990, No 2. Volume 110) - The front cover has wrinkling/creasing at the bottom half, the bottom right-hand corner has an approx. 1" crease; the back cover has an approx. 1/8" tear/indent and approx. 3/4" crease at the top left-hand corner, the left-hand edge has a lengthy crease starting at the top edge and extending past "Groningen".
British Chess Magazine (April 1990, No. 4, Volume 110) - The front
cover bottom left-hand corner has a small blemish, there is some staining at
the right side of the photo near the chess pieces, the bottom right-hand corner
has an approx. 3" crease; the back cover has staining at the left-hand
center side, the bottom left-hand corner has an approx. 1 1/2"
crease.
British Chess Magazine (October 1990, No. 10, Volume 110) - The
front cover bottom staple has some rust migration, the right-hand edge has
staining in various places; the back cover has some wrinkling at the left-hand
bottom edge, there is a small stain at the bottom right-hand edge at
"computer".
British Chess Magazine (November 1990, No. 11, Volume 110) - The
front cover top right-hand corner has a light approx. 1 3/4" crease with a
smaller one (approx. 1/4") at the edge, the bottom left-hand corner has
some impact creasing; the back cover has some indenting at the top left-hand
edge.

(March 1991, No. 3, Volume 111) - The front cover spine has some stress lines - the biggest approx.
1/2" near "Defence", the bottom right-hand corner has an approx.
1/4" light crease; the back cover bottom left-hand corner has an approx.
1/2" crease.

center edge has a light indent, there are some blemishes at the middle and
bottom areas; the back cover top left-hand corner has a light approx. 2"
crease, the bottom center edge has some color loss and indent.

(October 1991, No. 10, Volume 111) - The front cover spine has some stress lines - the biggest approx.
1/4" near the horse, there is some color loss in that area as well, there
is some indenting in the photo at the center; the back cover has a stain at the
bottom right-hand edge at "rubriques" and "comme".

(November 1991, No. 11, Volume 111) - The front cover top right-hand corner has an approx. 3/4"
crease, the spine has some stress lines - the biggest approx. 1/4" near
the chess board; the back cover top left-hand corner has an approx. 1/4"
crease.

front cover top left-hand edge has some indenting, the bottom half has
wrinkling/creasing in various places; the back cover has wrinkling/creasing at
the bottom left-hand corner.
