This is a rare October 21st, 1929 program (playbill) from the opening weeks of the Original Broadway production of the CYRUS WOOD, EDGAR SMITH, GRAHAM JOHN, NICHOLAS KEMPNER and SAM TIMBERG musical comedy "THE STREET SINGER" at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre in New York City. (The Original Broadway production opened September 17th, 1929 at the Shubert Theatre, transferred on February 17th, 1930 to the Royale Theatre and ran for 191 performances.) ..... DETAILS: The 44 page program measures 5 1/4" X 7 3/4" inches and includes beautiful cover graphics, full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers, bios of each of the leading actors and wonderful vintage advertising but with the exception of one advertisement, no cast photos ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The seam is split at both the top and bottom, there is soiling to the covers, light creasing and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
