Two set (each with four individual pads) for one brake caliper. Two sets are required for a complete replacement.

thickness of Backing Plate: 4.5mm / Total thickness: 8.7 mm (do not use 3.5 mm carrier plate for BMW S 1000 RR)
Height x Width: 40.5 x 34.9mm

Fits for:

- BMW S 1000 RR 2009 - 2018 (not HP4)

Also suitable for:
- BMW S1000R 2013 - 2019
- Triumph Speed Triple 1050 2007 - 2011
- Triumph Speed Twin 1200 from 2019

When they were introduced, carbon racing pads represented the first significant improvement in terms of braking performance compared to the classic sinter technology. For many racing drivers, this is the decisive criterion, even if new pads have to be run in briefly (approx. 1 round). So there are always areas of application for carbon racing pads in top racing classes. TRW offers a good alternative to the brands that are better known in international racing.

Brake pads are part of the overall fit of the motorcycle to the rider. Depending on the remaining components of the brake system, depending on the motorcycle and its equipment / set-up (e.g. chassis / tires), depending on the driving skills, depending on the budget and depending on the application, different pads can offer the optimum. The differences in the possible lap times with the rubbers we offer are of the order of magnitude more in the tenths than in the seconds range. Further differences can be found in the wear behavior and thus also in the price-performance ratio. The individual optimum can then also depend heavily on personal feeling for the brakes. We therefore recommend: Testing and using empirical values (also from other drivers).

Change brake pads (Brief instructions / recommendation):
- unscrew a brake caliper
- take out the old pads (remove pin / spring, press out depending on the model)
- Clean the brake caliper completely (e.g. with washing-up liquid and a toothbrush), check for possible wear
- lubricate the pistons with ATE brake cylinder paste (e.g. with 2. Toothbrush)
- push the pistons back completely
- lubricate the edges (sliding surfaces, not the friction surfaces) and the back of the pads with copper paste
- put the pads back in the way the old pads were in
- Screw the brake caliper back on, functional test
- then do the same with the 2. Tongs
Optional depending on the brake caliper:
- Wear test, if necessary Replacement of pins and springs
- Use of ceramic paste instead of copper paste (special pliers according to manufacturer specification)
Always use fresh brake fluid and keep the brake disc clean.

Two sets (each four single pads) for one caliper. You need two sets for a full exchange.

Thickness of the Carrier plate: 4.5mm / Thickness complete: 9 mm (do not use 3.5 mm carrier plate for BMW OEM setting)

Fits for:

- BMW S 1000 RR 2009 - 2018 (not HP4)

Fits also to:
- BMW S1000R 2013 - 2020
- Triumph Speed Triple 1050 2007 - 2011
- Triumph Speed Twin 1200 2019- ongoing

carbon Racing pads have a much better performance than the older "classic" pads of sinter technology, which is the crucial criteria for many racers, if they have to break them in for one lap. You often find also in top racing categories riders who use carbon pads. TRW is offering a good alternative to the well-known brands in international motorsport.

Brake pads are one part of the whole bike setting for the rider. Depending on the rest of the setting, depending on driving skills, depending on budget and intended use, different brake pads may offer the optimum. The differences in possible lap times between us offered brake pads are to be assumed about a second or less. You find some more difference in wear and price-performance ratio. The individual optimum can therefore strongly depend on the personal feeling for the brake. We suggest therefor to test and use experiences (also from other riders).

Changing pads (short manual / suggestion):
- demount one caliper
- take off the old pads (remove bolts / spring, push out depending on model)
- clean the caliper complete (eg with teeth brush and detergent), check wear
- lubricate the pistons with ATE piston paste (eg with a 2nd brush)
- push back the pistons
- lubricate the edges and the back side of the pads with copper paste (do not lubricate friction surface)
- put the pads into the caliper like the old ones were in
- assemble the caliper to the bike, check function
- do the same with the 2nd caliper
Optional depending on caliper:
- check wear of bolts and springs, if is: replace
- use ceramic paste instead of copper paste (special calipers according to producer)
Always use fresh brake fluid and take care of a clean brake disk.
