The specie is Western Pacific Coast Alder, as used in both vintage & modern F Strato/Telec and Precis/Jazz basses. This is grown in the Western United States.

Many major manufacturers use alder for their electric guitar and bass bodies.

This Alder blank is kiln-dried.
