Dairy Name: Shamrock Foods
Dairy Location: Probably around Erie, Pennsylvania as I acquired this when living in that area many years ago.
Dairy Slogan(s) and Other Lettering: "Shamrock Foods" with clover is applied with some kind of decal in white on the two long sides. Manufacturer information and patent numbers are molded in the plastic on one end. An unauthorized use warning is molded in the plastic on the other end.
Capacity: Without stuffing a bunch of milk jugs in the crate, I could only guess how many jugs it will hold. The crate is undivided, so there is flexibility for what can be carried. The crate was made to be stackable.
Dimensions: The crate measures approximately 19 x 13 x 11 inches. (Note for record collectors: 12-inch LP records won't quite fit across the narrower dimension, but fit fine across the longer dimension. Ten inch records will fit fine either way.) The crate weighs about 5 pounds, 7 ounces empty.
Crate Condition: Please use the photos and video provided to assess condition. Zoom in for a close-up look! The video gives you a different way to examine the crate. I don't think there is anything I can put in words that you can't see in the photos. There is some wear of course, but the crate is very solid. The steel band around the top has some rust. The plastic shows some rub wear, most heavy on the bottom and top. The white lettering/logos look good with light wear. There are a couple nicks and one small missing chunk of plastic from one of the decorative ovals. Again - please use the photos and video to fully assess condition since it will be an impossible task for me to list every little imperfection.
Additional Comments: I did spend about a half hour cleaning about 40 years of accumulated dust off the crate, even using a swab to try to clean inside all of the lattice. I'm afraid the buyer will have to spend a little effort to finish what I started. Once the crate dried after my cleaning job, it was obvious that I missed quite a few spots where built up dust can still be seen. I can only guess at when the crate was manufactured. If my recollection is correct, I bought this sometime in the 1980s or early 90s.
Shipping Notes: I know that it will cost a small fortune to ship this, especially if it has to travel far from Pennsylvania. The crate is large and a little heavy. That means the shipping box will be even larger and heavier. If UPS delivers to your location, that might be the least expensive shipping method to use. Check out the prices for all three of the shipping methods offered. If you need delivery by USPS or just prefer USPS delivery, you can select USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail at check out. There is a chance that a signature will be required for delivery.

LOCAL PICKUP RULES: If Free Local Pickup is offered for this item and you choose that option instead of an option to have the item shipped to you, there are a few rules to be aware of. We both have to allocate time to make a pickup work smoothly, so please understand the local pickup rules.
- Don't choose free local pickup if you are expecting the item to be shipped to you (obviously). That won't work.
- Don't choose free local pickup if you live far far away, but think you might be in the area someday. That won't work. Pickup arrangements will always be made for a specific date and time, very close to the purchase date. Please don't ask me to hold something for extended periods of time.
- Pickup arrangements will be made after payment is received for the item. I will specify a location to meet.
- Payment must be made through eBay as soon as the item is purchased, just like for items shipped though USPS or UPS. No payments will be accepted in person. Failure to pay for the item in a timely manner may result in order cancellation.
- eBay provides a method to confirm the item has been picked up. At the time of this writing, that method is a QR code plus a six-digit code that can be found by looking at order details or in an email from eBay. YOU MUST BRING THE PICKUP CONFIRMATION CODE WITH YOU FOR EVERY ITEM TO BE PICKED UP. I can't hand over the item(s) without first scanning the pickup confirmation code(s). The codes can be printed or can be presented on your phone (eBay app or email).
- Items purchased for local pickup must be picked up in a timely manner, preferably the day of purchase or the next day. If you need more time than that to pickup your purchase, we must make arrangements before the item is purchased. Orders not picked up in a timely manner, as described, are subject to cancellation and the item will be relisted for sale.
- Failure to show up for the arranged pickup meeting will result in order cancellation.
