By turning the barrel of the pen, the metal half-moon opens, and the nib is gracefully extended into position for writing. To "close" the pen, simply twist the barrel in the opposite direction.

The Stipula Leonardo DaVinci Capless fountain pen uses a cartridge converter filling system compatible with standard international-size ink cartridges and converters. The pen includes one converter (already installed in the pen) and one ink cartridge. Pens are packaged in the classic red Stipula pen box with information on the pen, the brand, and how to use Stipula fountain pens under the false bottom of the luxury pen box.
