The Phase One XF is a remarkable camera for outdoor photography and the XF can actually be used even hand-held, but if you plan to be on your feet for a few hours, an XF and even 2-3 Scheider-Kreuznach lenses are a heavy load. Even if you carry the system in a backpack, it is a chore to keep pulling out the camera and lens, set up or take a few shots, then put them back into the backpack.

I got The Alaskan Photo Vest from the best rugged photo vest maker in the business, thevestguy.com, with all the options I wanted, and added a few extensions of my own, so I could carry my XF with one S-K lens mounted on it, a couple of additional S-K lenses, and even a 35mm Sony camera with a couple of lenses, all in this one photo vest, which also comes with its own backpack add on that is large enough to hold a lens like an S-K 40-80 or 75-150.  

This is a heavy, solidly built vest that will easily handle such weight, without the risk of something tearing or giving way, leading to a disastrous drop of the camera or an expensive lens. I have spent over five hours walking in Carmel, California, essentially "wearing” my gear and keeping my hands free for the most part. This vest, plus the upgrades I have made, beautifully distributes the weight of the equipment around the shoulders and chest of the photographer, so there is zero stress on the neck or imbalanced load anywhere.

There are two black nylon straps that I have added that have detachable pieces with Peak Design connectors at the end.  These will be taken off when I ship the vest.

My only reason for selling this is, most of my photography is landscapes, and I have switched to the Phase One XT and a couple of Rodenstock primes that are not too heavy.
