Mari Schuh's love of reading began with cereal boxes at the kitchen table. Today, she is the author of hundreds of nonfiction books for beginning readers, covering topics from tomatoes to tornadoes. This series is an excellent choice for readers who want to build their confidence but may not be ready to commit to longer nonfiction texts. The chapters provide a challenge without being overwhelming. Some of the graphic elements, such as maps and diagrams, may be difficult for some beginning readers to interpret.
