This is a sweet Clay Donkey transporting bundles of fire wood on his back.  This piece is all handmade of unglazed Beige Color Clay and hand painted Rust Color Details.  This sweet little guy was made in Santa María Atzompa by the same lady who makes my articulated skeletons, Antonia Nayeli Vasquez Velasco, but is not signed.   I also have another donkey with baskets of bread for sale.  See photo #5 or go to my Ebay Store for a larger selection...

It measures approximately;  4 1/2 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide & 4 inches long

Atzompa is a town outside the city of Oaxaca that is famous for it's long pottery tradition.  Pottery making in Aztompa dates back to Pre-Hispanic times. There is a wonderful archeological site of the ancient city of Atzompa just up the hill from the modern town.
