Diecast Model
Matchbox - MB883
Volkswagen Type 34 Karmann Ghia
MBX Adventure City (2016)

The history of Matchbox diecast models can be traced to the Lesney company, whose name comes from its founders Leslie and Rodney Smith (unrelated). Rodney left the company soon after its formation, his shares being bought by Leslie and new partner John (better known as Jack) Odell.

The first Matchbox models appeared in 1953, and the brand still continues today, under the ownership of the toy-making giant Mattel.

The Matchbox replica of the VW Karmann Ghia was designed by Michael Heralda, and it first appeared in the range in 2013. There have been a number of variants, and this particular one was part of the "MBX Adventure City" series included in the 2016 1-125 Series in the US.

The model is brand new in its original packaging. The card is generally good condition, though does have some minor creasing. Model itself is mint, being factory sealed in the blister. All photos show actual item you will receive.
