For Sale is a Ultra-Rare, NEW Svc for 8! Fujimori Kato Kogei Post Modern Art Dinnerware Carnival 80's Vtg.

Description:

Every now and then we come across something Special
This is one of those times!
This Fujimori Designed Service for 8 was Produced at Kato Kogei Ceramics in Japan during the 1980's. Titled: Carnival, the Set appears Brand New and comes in the original Boxes. There are no Repairs / Breaks / Cracks / Crazing... no flatware marks (Scratch's / scuffs etc.) on the plates. I don't see any indication this set was ever used. Dusty from Decades of being stored, "possibly" displayed but free of any sign of use. (I gently wiped them down before listing, they are clean now) There is one rub on the end of one of the platters (See the last pic of the platter), outside of the rub, the only blemishes I can find are straight from the factory (for example- tiny pinpoint size dot in the glaze here or there)

Set comes with everything shown in the pictures:
8 - 10"W x 9"W Plates - Round w/ 1 straight side
8- Cups 5 1/2" across from the outside edge of the handle to outside of cup x 4 3/4"T x 3 1/8"W
2- Serving Platters 16"L x 10"W
Original Boxes - Each 4pc set of plates and cups have a box. The Platters were packed in between Styrofoam in a larger box containing the entire order when purchased.
The boxes themselves show some light / moderate shelfware but are solid. One box may need a piece of tape where the seam has begun to separate. I will leave that to you to decide.

Set will be shipped in the original boxes .... Securely packed in a larger box. We will cover the insurance cost for the full sales price and send the package out within 1 business day of payment.

If your looking at this listing you probably already know the inspiration for this set, here is a short history

Fujimori was born in Japan in 1935 and won the National Art Award when he was just 19. He would go on to win many major awards including the Grand Prix at the Nitten Exhibition (a major Japanese art organization). He worked in Chicago as a ceramics designer before returning to Japan in 1963. He was named Art Director for Kato Kogei Ceramics, where he oversaw the design and distribution of his signature line.

These pieces are quintessential ‘80s postmodern design. They are reminiscent of Memphis - with geometric shapes and pops of vibrant color.

Ultra Hard to find pieces in this Condition... not to mention a full 8 person service.
Someone is getting lucky!
