  • Yellowstone was the first national park. It has many hydrothermal & geologic features. It has about 1/2 of the world's geysers. It is located mainly in northwest corner of Wyoming and expands into Idaho and Montana.
  • Some of their notable geysers are:
    • Beehive Geyser, unpredictable but magnificent eruptions.
    • Clepsydra Geyser, changed its interval after an earthquake in 1959.
    • Plume Geyser, affected by another geyser's eruption in 1972.
    • Old Faithful, most well-known & reliable geyser in the park.
    • Steamboat Geyser, tallest active geyser in the world.
    • Excelsior Geyser, huge hot spring that sometimes erupts.
    • Imperial Geyser, colorful & serene geyser near Fairy Falls.
