The Elbrus in Russia's Caucasian Mountains, with elevation of 5,462 m (18,510 feet), is the Highest Mountain Peak in Europe; it is also a dromant volcano.
Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, also a dormant volcano, stands 5,895 m (19,341 feet) tall and is the Highest Mountain Peak in Africa, as well as the highest free-standing mountain above sea level in the World.
