DESCRIPTION:
Antique French Empire dining chair in the manner of Jacob Desmalter 1805 heavy mahogany with pegged joints.
This chair is likely a 20th century bespoke made chair of a very heavy dense timber like honduras or cuban mahogany.
The joints are superbly made with precision and are all pegged in the traditional french manner of the period 18th and early 19th century.
Beautifully carved Empire leaf and wreath designs to top of chair back and seat rail. Fluted pillaster column back ending in sabre rear legs and tapering front legs terminating in lions paw feet.
This chair is very solid and heavy and probably made to exactly match an original from 1805 by the Master Ebeniste George Jacob and will suit modern dining with a large wide seat upholstered with springs for extra comfort.
French early 20th century in the French Empire manner of 1805

Although we try to ensure all the descriptions are true and correct at time of listing due to the number of listings sometimes minor errors may occur . If this happens we will end a listing early.….but not to worry, it will soon be re-listed with the correct information … unless sold prior as all items are advertised elsewhere and only some get listed on ebay.
