A beautiful Chamart hand-painted strawberry motif hinged box made in Limoges France.  Designed with incredible detail, painted rose red, gold polka dots, green leaves and an antique gold tone ornate frame.  It measures approximately 1 7/8" high and 1 5/8" in diameter.  The inside reads Peint Main Chamart Limoges France.

Chamart is a contraction of the name of its founder, Charles Martine. As the result of the devastation inflicted on France by World War II, there was little product to import; only Haviland imported French porcelain - and only its own product. Martine was the first to bring a variety of French porcelains into the U.S. He created the company in the early 1950's and moved to 225 Fifth Avenue, where it remains as one of the building's oldest tenants.
