Offering a stunning French Grand Sonnerie repeating Carriage clock with an alarm made by the notable French clock maker Louis Fernier. It is signed LF on the back of the works.
This stunning clock is in pristine condition. It has a stunning raised face with distinctive arabic numbers , and an alarm set dial in the same style. The antique white of the dial is offset by an elegant gold surround. The hands are delicate, and the hour hand is in the shape of a Fleur-de-lis. There is a small brass repeater button on the top of the clock. When it is pushed the clock strikes the hour, then the 15 minute quadrant. It was a wonderful advanced feature of its time so if one awoke in the night with just a push of the button they knew the hour and within 15 minutes the time. The gold finish of the clock frame is bright and high gloss and is stunning. It is an 8 day winding mechanism.
At the bottom of the case is a lever for :

Allowing for a choice of 2 strike patterns, or silence.
The clock works and the bottom are elegantly marked in a beautiful scroll writing that indicate the function of the4 winding stems.
