The Dictionary of English Furniture by Ralph Edwards (1954 Revised Edition) is the most authoritative general work on English antique furniture ever published. The first edition of this work was published 1924-27. The Dictionary is, within its chronological limits, a comprehensive survey of the whole wide field of English domestic furniture. Later research has added details but the basic body of knowledge remains unchallenged. It remains the standard book referred to in all salerooms.

First Published in 1924-27 by Country Life Limited. Reprinted as a limited edition by Barra Books Ltd. in 1983. This is number 202/500.
