This stunning 5 Oz Silver coin is dedicated to one of Canada's most iconic and majestic species – the Humpback Whale. The coin features a Soapstone in the shape of a Whale's tail, has a beautiful blue enamel to recreate the arctic waters and comes in a wooden circular base in a black case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited worldwide mintage to 1.000 pieces. The reverse of the coin represents the ice-cool waters of Northern Canada through the design by Royal Canadian Mint engraver Cecily Mok. An even application of translucent enamel over a proof finish stands in for the ocean's sparkling, Arctic-blue waters, while allowing a glimpse of what lies below: the engraved outlines of a humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) and its calf. On top of the coin's reverse, the inscription: "CANADA" - the issuing country. On the bottom, the inscriptions: "50 DOLLARS" - the face value and "2018" – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" - the name of the Queen and "D.G. REGINA" – Dei Gratia Regina.
