Seeds do best when sown directly in garden bed after danger of frost has passed.  Soaking them overnight can help with germination. Protect seedlings from slugs or they will eat every sprout.  Can also be sown indoors in pots 4 weeks before outdoor transplant date.  Be careful if transplanting, and be sure to harden off first. This type of sunflower will thrive even in poor soil.
