Description

Offering an antique Chinese Blue and White Porcelain  censer. This beautiful, vibrant,  and substantial piece  has the popular motif of dragons  chasing a pearl.  It is decorated with four 5 claw   dragons confronting a flaming pearl   .  The top of the censor has a ruyi band.  Underneath the dragons are waves.  On the interior  is a single   dragon chasing a flaming  pearl.
The wood base  is a burner with a raised lip rim and rounded carved  sides siting on 4 beautifully curved  legs.
The bottom of the censer has 4 marks.  A close up is shown.  It appears to be a Qianlong Nianzhi mark  from the 1800’s.
CONDITION:
This is a beautiful piece in wonderful condition. The censer itself has no chips cracks or flakes. Around the rim there is one spot of irregularity – an imperfection under the glaze. A close up photo is shown.
The wood burner base is phenomenal with no cracks, chips, or breaks. It is elegantly carved with nicely curved legs. It has a natural finish that does have some  fading commensurate with age. It appears to possibly be Zitan wood.
