MOVEMENT: Authentic and original beautiful and very elegant rare early ROLEX GMT - Master, reference: 6542, cal 1030, diver - pilot men watch movement. It is a mechanical movement with an automatic winding system. Movement is: "ROLEX", "Perpetual", "Patented", Rolex crown figure symbol" marked on rotor, "ROLEX Montres SA", "Geneva", "swiss", "Twenty five 25 jewels", "Nº824336" (serial number) , framed "1030" (movement caliber) marked. Take prresent about this is a very rare ROLEX GMT - Master very early GMT movement. 1030 GMT were made in a very reduced quantity and are present on very early GMT only. after were 1036, 1066. They the 1036, and 1066 are expensiv, but are common in comparison to the very rare 1030 GMT. Bridges are colimaconnage finished and anglage finished. Plate is perlage hand made finished. This movement is in excellent working condition, it has been serviced recently. Very shining movement.
For sale this classic beautiful and very elegant, very rare early ROLEX GMT - Master, reference 6542, cal: 1030 GMT (1030 GMT are present on very early ROLEX GMT edition, from 1955 to 1957, for Bakelite bezel edition). I found this watch with this super rare movement, and with this rare 6542 IV 1958 edition. This is a transitional watch. after the GMT movem,enbt was 1036, 1066. It is extremely hard to find a 1030 ROLEX GMT movement. This is not a converted 1030 of course. To get a 100% Rolex GMT it is necessary a dial and bracelet only !!. I do not know what happened with the dial. I purchased the watch from a closed watchmaker store, it was in a security box and the condition is superb, incredible. All pictures are fully original, never retouched as part of a better description process. Fully original watch. I am selling this watch to be completed. I am asking USD$13000, but if necessary, I can sell this watch separately, in parts:
ROLEX 1030 GMT movement :USD$9000. (crown and hands are a gift. The GMT hand is not original lo this watch. Original is small triangle GMT hand of coruse).
ROLEX GMT - Master pepsi complete bezel: USD$4000
ROLEX GMT - Master case: USD $6000 (the original thick plexiglass is a gift if you purchase the case, or complete watch).
FUNCTIONS: Hour, minutes, seconds, 30 minute recoder, 12 hour recorder, starting counter. Bidirectional external two tone: red and blue revolving bezel for two time 24 hours control purposses. To know if day or night. Water resistant (Not guaranted. This is a vintage watch).
DIAL: Not included. Dial is missed. Only were found the hour and minute hand. the seconds and GMT hand are replaced, and not match to this early GMT 6542 edition. The triangle on GMT end hand must be smaller.
CASE: Authentic and original beautiful and very elegant rare early ROLEX GMT - Master, reference: 6542, cal 1030, waterresistant diver - pilot men watch case. It is a big tonneau shaped case made of fine and solid stainless steel. Hermetic screwed back case made of fine and solid stainless steel too. Inside it is: "Montres Rolex S.A", "Geneva", "Switzerland", "Patented", "Stainless steel", "6542", "IV 1958" marked on a beautiful Colimaconnage hand made finished base. Case measurements: without crown: 38 (37,79) x 38 (37,89) mm. Lug to lug: 48 (47,56) mm. This case is in beautiful excellent condition. Never polished. All original edges and finished are present. Between lugs at 6 it is: "426XXX", and between lugs at 12, it is: "6542", "Registered Design" marked. This case comes with its original ROLEX GMT Pepsi Bidirectional external two tone: red and blue revolving bezel for two time zone, 24 hours control purposses. To know if day (red) or night (blue) . Beautiful case.
