Turns out the new planet they hoped to be perfect new home for the human race is a waste land. So they travel back to Earth and Godzilla is the ruler of the planet. So the last of the humans wage war on the kaijus to retake the earth. Oh and the kaijus have changed the planet's landscape in the last 20 thousand years or so!
