This is a stunning, antique, and beautifully hand-painted ROUND SERVING BOWL/PLATTER, measuring 12 5/8" in diameter. It was manufactured around the 1860s by Fischer & Mieg Porzellanfabrik in Bohemia, now Czechoslovakia. The elegant white porcelain features a sparkling glaze, scalloped edges, hand-painted light-blue trim, and a dainty, detailed and delightful floral pattern. Like on most antique porcelain items, the manufacturer's mark of the impressed "F & M" is not always readily visible on the underside of the pieces.

This lovely-shaped ROUND SERVING BOWL/PLATTER  (as well as other pieces of this Dinnerware Set, which are listed separately) has been in my Family for generations and was brought to the U.S. in the 1980s. It is in remarkable condition for its age of approximately 160 years, with only minor surface wear consistent with age and storage. Collectors of antique porcelain would be taken instantly by its beauty and elegance!

Please note:  Fischer & Mieg Porzellanfabrik was founded in 1802 in Bohemia and its ownership changed several times within the family. In 1908 it was sold at auction but the name remained Fischer & Mieg. Today, part of the factory is operated as Thun Karlovarsky Porcelan AS Zavod Vuji (Carlsbad Porcelain in English) for the Porcelain Research Institute, and the rest of the factory is still in operation today as Artporcel, sro Manufactura Pirkenhammer.

Due to age and storage, antique and vintage items that are offered for sale are rarely "perfect" any longer. They show that they have been "around", have pleased someone a long time ago, and wish to please someone in the future as well.
