This rare antique end table/canterbury from the Federal period (1780-1820) is a stunning piece of furniture that combines style and functionality. Crafted from rosewood, it has four vertical slatted partitions, a boat shaped frieze and a removable clear glass top with gold leaf trim. The two original Sheraton style solid brass knobs on the single drawer have beaded rims and base circling a rosette. Below the drawer are round tapered legs with original brass casters. Designed  to hold sheet music, plates and serveware upright; now often used as a magazine rack/end table. Very rare piece!
