The Wand
This is a lovely wood wand made from a beautiful piece of Avalon willow wood I found while walking near Glastonbury. The wand was carved by hand, and then sanded it smooth using several grades of sandpaper. It has ben pyrographed with an intricate opattern of spirals along its length and has the ogham symbol for willow pyrographed into the end. It has been treated with local beeswax polish, and will have another coat before it leaves for it's new owner. It measures about 10.5 inches/27 cm from end to end.
It's definitely one of a kind, as are all my wands. It will come to you in a wand bag - useful for keeping it safe, and to tie to your belt for rituals. Willow Willow is a beautiful tree that likes to grow close to water - along the banks of rivers, streams and lakes. Willow wood is flexible and bends rather than breaks in high winds. Willow is considered to be a feminine tree, and is associated with the goddess, lunar cycles, with liminality and seership.
