Folio Society "Seven Gothic Tales" by Isak Dinesen.

"Seven Gothic Tales" is a collection of short stories by the Danish author Karen Blixen (under the pen name Isak Dinesen), it was published three years before her memoir "Out of Africa".
A collection of tales consisting of stories set mostly in the nineteenth century and first published in the United States, Seven Gothic Tales was instantly popular, revolving around mysterious, bizarre or supernatural events that explore questions of philosophy and identity. Although writing of death and failed loved affairs, Dinesen’s lush, ornate prose also has moments of humour.
