World Cup material! The improved sintering technology, with slightly different processes depending on the manufacturer, represents the current state-of-the-art brake pad technology for racing use. Originally developed for long-distance racing, they quickly found use in the world championship classes in dry and wet conditions due to their broad, linear controllability and very good braking performance. For many racing teams, the low wear and tear justifies the high price overall. SBS offers current world championship material here, as used by many teams (e.g. Moto2).

Brake pads are part of the overall adjustment of the motorcycle to the rider. Depending on the remaining components of the brake system, depending on the motorcycle and its equipment/settings (e.g. chassis/tires), depending on driving skills, depending on the budget and depending on the intended use, different pads can offer the optimum. The differences in possible lap times for the surfaces we offer are more in the order of tenths than in seconds. Further differences can be found in the wear behavior and thus also in the price-performance ratio. The individual optimum can then depend heavily on your personal feeling for the brakes. We therefore recommend: testing and using experience (including other drivers).

Change brake pads (Quick guide / recommendation):
- unscrew a brake caliper
- take out the old pads (remove pin/spring, push out depending on model)
- Clean the brake caliper completely (e.g. with dish soap and a toothbrush), check for possible wear
- lubricate the pistons with ATE brake cylinder paste (e.g. with 2. Toothbrush)
- push the pistons back completely
- lubricate the edges (sliding surfaces, not the friction surfaces) and the back of the pads with copper paste
- put the pads back in the way the old pads were in them
- screw the brake caliper back on, functional test
- then do the same with the 2nd one. Tongs
Optional depending on brake caliper:
- Wear check, if necessary Replacement of pins and springs
- Use of ceramic paste instead of copper paste (special pliers according to manufacturer's instructions)
Always use fresh brake fluid and keep the brake disc clean.
