Vintage French Industrial Jielde floor Lamp 1960

This is an AUTHENTIC Jielde lamp Created by Jean-Louis Domecq in 1953

what is the jielde lamp ?

True emblem of industrial style, this lamp from the 50’s was designed by an engineer who sought the perfect lamp to suit all workstations in the factory.

It is very popular among fans of industrial style for its elegance, due to its pure lines, its robustness and its ability to adapt to all needs.

The particularity of the connection is the direct contact inside which does not required wires, so it can be manipulated in all positions, all the moving part can move at a 360° angle (720°, 1080° ect...).

How has it been restored?

This lamp has first been thoroughly cleaned , dégreased, disassembled and stripped to expose the metal hidden under layers of paint and rust.

For the globe. After rubbing with iron straw. I found this rust aspect very beautiful and I preferred to leave it under this appearance. So I just rub to remove imperfections and I varnished it to avoid any development of rust and dirt problem to touch.

The interior of the globe was painted white in a paint that is resistant to high temperatures in order to project a good quality light.

To standardize the globe I associated it with a foot that I treated in the same way

The rest of the lamp was cleaned to iron, degreased and varnished.

Electricity has been completely revised and brought to European standard.

Electric system E27 (CE), standart IT, bulb in saw (srew bulb). Very easy to adapt an other system, just change a plug or use an adaptator. Electric son 2,50 metres

Original Label Jielde Lyon métal .

Interruptor “goutte d’eau” on the top of the lamp.

Very good stability with her 4kgs base. (break disc restored)

We must not forget that in addition to its esthetic and practical qualities, the interest of this lamp is its history, which gives it its character,

small traces of its past are normal and bring her vintage charm.
