This daguerreotype features a pretty young lady with curled hair wearing a plaid dress, paisley patterned shawl, and gold jewelry. The image was taken by John Plumbe Jr. in New York and it is wonderfully tinted. 

The oversized 1/4 plate is not properly sealed but a temporary filmoplast seal has been applied to prevent sliding. The case measures about 4.5 x 4.75 inches. The plate itself is a standard 1/4 plate size and it has been over matted. Some of the dust specks are on the glass. The white tarnish is on the plate.
