 DESIGNER DESCRIPTION and HISTORY.....

Richard Erker was a West Village NYC jewelry designer in the 70s and 80s for the likes of Cher, La Belle, Billy Idol and many other celebrities of that era. He passed away in 2004.

Richard Erker, was an East Village resident and jewelry designer for over 35 years, is known by top fashion designers for his distinctive jewelry and body pieces. He has created collections and designed for Ralph Lauren, Sean John, BASCO, Perry Ellis, Stephen Sprouse, Randolph Duke, Adrienne Vittadini, Isak Mizrahi just to name a few.

Richards work continues to be featured in some of the worlds most respected fashion magazines and in runway shows, especially in Europe. Erkers skull necklace was recently featured on the cover of the February 2009 Italian Vogue. Once you’ve seen Erkers distinctive work, you’ll understand just why European fashion magazines, known for their risk taking prose and high fashion, frequently feature his designs. ZTrend was wowed by an incredible gold neck cuff + haltered body jewelry Erker had sculpted out of silver for a L'Oreal ad.

In his store you would find signature pieces that demonstrate Richards years of talent and risk-taking creativity. His jewelry designs are precious. He primarily worked with fine metals, like gold, silver and platinum, but is known for his chunky sleek silver designs. He also worked with precious sapphires and diamonds. You have got to see Richard Erkers one-of-a-kind designs to truly appreciate his work. Gone too soon due to an untimely death, whatever pieces are left is all there is and all there will ever be.
