Jena is fine-quality glass with improved resistance to heat and shock, suited for chemic, optical ware, scientific and industrial use. Produced since 1884. Since 1920s operates under brand name JENAer GLAS. Famous designers (Gerhard Marx, Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Heinrich Leverhard, Bruno Mauda, ​​Ilse Decoe Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Hans Merz) developed many products for home. Many JENAir pieces are presented in collection of New York Metropolitan museum.

Since 2006 Jena glass license was passed to Zwiesel Crystalglass AG and the products are sold under Zwiesel name. 
One of Jena subdivisions since 2005 use the original molds and machines of the Jena glass factory to produce heat-resistant glassware for the home under the Trend Glass Jena brand. 

JENAer name is not used anymore.
