Decorate a master bathroom or powder room with this colorful antique jewelry box; crafted in the style of Sèvres, France circa 19th.

the porcelain bombe casket with cobalt blue and gilt border, features a hand painted pastoral scene after Francois Boucher, with a gentleman charming a young beauty, and dog and sheep attending. The Rococo box is dressed with a brass hinge and the sides are decorated with floral motifs; when opened, the inside box is embellished with hand-painted floral decor. The Napoleon III jewelry box is in excellent condition with rich colors on a royal blue background.
François Boucher (1703-1770), was a French painter, draftsman and etcher, who worked in the Rococo style. Boucher is known for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories, and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated painter and decorative artist of the 18th century.

I tried to clean the accumulated patina with dishwashing degreaser, but it was not completely successful, obviously the stains accumulated with age cannot be cleaned. I am selling it as it is.

I can't be 100% sure about the year of production but judging by the patina and the wear in my opinion is 19th century, the box is not marked, in my opinion Old Paris Porcelain

I sell antique and vintage collectible stuff - unique items that have history, and may show signs of this - it's part of their charm. I try to describe any obvious faults as truthfully as I can. However, as most of my items are 100 years old, they will often bear the traces of a previous life. Please think carefully about bidding if you are looking for a pristine item that is as new. My passion is for beautiful antique stuff and quirky vintage items with a gently faded grandeur, so do consider this before deciding to bid.
