2-way speaker bookshelf sealed type with new magnetic circuit, “lively and moving” Luxury and thorough high-quality sound design inherited from high-end models

Combining the 2-way closed type know-how cultivated with the KX-3 series, the tweeter developed with the KX -1, and the technology of scaling up the carbon polypropylene developed with the KX-0.5 to a 170mm woofer, it is truly a combination of traditional technology and the latest technology. This product enables a dynamic sense of scale and high-quality playback.

  Newly designed 170mm diameter carbon polypropylene (CPP) cone type woofer

We created a woofer with extremely low distortion that accommodates large driving force with increased efficiency and magnetic circuit misalignment at large amplitudes. A 170mm diameter woofer with a low resonance frequency (FO) of 35Hz is used for dynamic and smooth bass reproduction. A lightweight and highly rigid CPP cone-shaped diaphragm is used, aiming to expand the dynamic range to low frequencies and to reproduce vibrant and rich low frequencies with good transients. The voice coil uses an edgewise long-travel 4-layer voice coil to increase the wire area ratio and improve low frequency with high efficiency and good transients. This woofer unit produces dynamic bass that you wouldn't expect from a small speaker system.

 

Ring diaphragm tweeter with bullet-shaped equalizer ideal for high-resolution high-quality sound sources

In order to improve transparency and further expand the high frequency range, we have developed a new pure silk 35mm ring diaphragm tweeter with a bullet-shaped equalizer. This tweeter secures an ultra-high frequency band of up to 50kHz for playing high-resolution high-quality sound sources, and plays high-resolution sound sources with rich musicality and luster.

  Board polyurethane coating with smoked eucalyptus (natural material)

The enclosure is made of smoked eucalyptus wood, which combines the good tone and beauty of natural materials, and is finished with a polyurethane coating. The luxurious finish with beautiful wood grain enhances class and dignity. It is a high-rigidity sealed type made of high-density 18mm particle particle board made of coniferous wood and MDF (back board), and has excellent vibration damping characteristics that suppress unnecessary vibrations, and has a transparent enclosure with a beautiful sound, just like a high-end musical instrument.

The newly developed "Magnesium PC-Triple C Cable" is used in the internal wiring material to achieve improved high sound quality.

Two types of newly developed high-quality speaker cables, sold separately, are used for the internal wiring of the woofer and tweeter. The woofer uses a "PC-Triple C speaker cable" that uses silk interposition, and the tweeter uses a newly developed speaker cable with a structure in which six PC-Triple C wires are twisted around the outer circumference of a "magnesium core wire." The sound was created and tuned thoroughly to suit the features of the speaker unit, and was completed after repeated listening tests.

Low-frequency damping (Qo) characteristics are tuned for high sound quality by using a special "sealed" sound absorbing material made with Krypton.

It is no exaggeration to say that ``deep bass with good transients is determined by the low frequency damping (Qo) characteristics.'' This theory is especially applicable to closed types. We carefully selected this sound absorbing material. The sound-absorbing material is a hybrid of Mystic White, which has a reputation for being pure wool (animal-based) low-density felt.The damping (Qo) characteristics have been adjusted, and the synergistic effect with the woofer's excellent low-frequency characteristics provides excellent transient response. Achieves rich and smooth low frequency reproduction.

2-way dividing network design with low loss and low distortion for high sound quality

In order to minimize distortion, the 2-way dividing network employs network elements such as a 1.2mm diameter air-core coil with low resistance and a low-loss metallized film capacitor that suppresses vibration with pitch material in the case. These bring out the sound of an excellent speaker unit to the utmost, creating harmony between each speaker, and purely reproducing music from pianissimo to fortissimo, as well as high-resolution sound fields.

  Adopts “bi-wiring method” terminals

The woofer (Low) and tweeter (High) terminals are bi-wired using a dividing network. The low and high terminals use short wires of "PC-Triple C", which is the same as the internal wiring material, and the bi-wiring method uses bi-amp drive and bi-wiring to separate the woofer unit and tweeter unit and connect each speaker unit. It prevents modulation of back electromotive force, minimizes distortion in mid- and high-frequency ranges, increases transparency, and enables high-quality sound reproduction.
