Vintage leather and sterling silver ladies concha belt handmade by the famous Delbert Delgarito. The bow ties and concha pieces are leather backed with a copper strap to attach to the leather belt provided. The total length of the belt from buckle end to belt strap end is 57 inches. There is 16 pieces all together, 7 shields, 8 small bow ties, and 1 large bow tie main buckle. The buckle is signed D. Delgarito with sterling stamped underneath the hallmark stamp. The belt is heavy and feels of quality handmade southwestern style Jewelery. This piece is larger than most but not too chunky like most concha belts. This concha belt is a statement piece without the feeling of trying to hard or sharp to the touch. Its edges are smooth and the silver pieces are leather backed. Obnoxious clanging and scraping across the skin or hips is prevented with the use of snug copper strapping attaching the concha pieces to the belt. Each shield and bow tie are decorated and shaped. The silversmithing present includes decorative hammered stamping along edges, accompanied with rows of silver droplets. Some toning or patina exists in the low points of the silver pieces giving depth and weight to the belt. The Delgarito family is world famous for their artwork and jewelry production talents. Delbert Delgarito continues the family reputation with this handmade, hand stamped sterling silver concha belt. An amazing addition to any vintage collection of jewelry and should be considered a family air loom to be passed down generationally.
