THOMAS JEFFERSON -- 1835 Portrait Steel Engraving

This steel engraving is from the National Portrait Gallery/Distinguished Americans (1835), which is a very hard-to-find edition presenting great Americans in the early years of our country.  The engraving has exquisite detail characteristic of steel engraved prints. BUT has scattered foxing. See picture.    BONUS Bio page (NOT a full biography)   Any weird patterns in picture are a picture artifact, NOT in actual print.

A facsimile autograph is depicted under the portrait.

Thomas Jefferson was an American statesman, diplomat, lawyer, architect, philosopher, and Founding Father who served as the president of the United States from 1801 to 1809. He was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence.
