Uchide no kozuchi (打ち出の小槌), also known as the Mallet of Fortune, is a significant relic of Japanese folklore which could “tap out” anything that it’s holder wished for. Traditionally, the magic hammer was made of wood and was found in the hand of the iconic deity Daikoku-ten. Today, representations of Uchide no kozuchi have been forged of many different materials.
