This is for an antique pitcher with two figural winged cherubs or angels on the front side.  It's artfully hand-painted in pink, blue, amber and green with the pastel colors fading into one another.  The mouth of the pitcher is scalloped and the base is scrolled and resembles the crest of a wave.   There's a gilt floral pattern in the center and gilt on the rim, handle and accented throughout.   The gilt on the handle is worn in some places.  The blue eyed cherubs as a whole are in excellent vintage condition.  Their paint on their faces and bodies is still bright and vibrant, and both sets of wings are intact.  The cherub on the left is missing fingers on his left and right hand.  The right hand is missing tips to three fingers.  The left foot is missing part of the big toe.  They are so tiny that is isn't very noticeable and does not detract from the piece as a whole.  The cherub on the right, in the green sash, isn't missing any extremities.  It's marked on the bottom with a 1 or an I and under that, lines through crossed swords and an embossed 5.  We can't tell with any certainty who the maker is.  It measures 12 1/4 high, 7 3/4" wide by the handle and 4 3/4" from front to back.
