The MC112CS is a 100BASE-FX to 100Base-TX fiber converter or vice versa. Adopting WDM technology, the MC112CS only needs one fiber cable to transmit and receive data, which will save wiring costs. Designed under the IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, the MC112CS is designed for Single-mode fiber with SC type connector. The MC112CS supports the long wavelength (LX) laser specification and transmits at wire speed. It works at the 1310nm wavelength in data transfer and 1550nm in data reception. So the other device that works with the MC112CS must perform data transfer at the 1550nm wavelength and 1310nm when receiving data. The MC111CS converter is just one example of the devices that can work with the MC112CS.

Another feature of this module is that it can be used as an independent device (no chassis required) or with the TP-LINK 19´´ chassis, Auto MDI/MDI-X port for TX and status LEDs on the front panel. The MC112CS converter is capable of extending the fiber optic distance up to 20 kilometers using Single-mode fiber.

Note: Two MC112CS cannot be interconnected via optical fiber, they must be interconnected MC111CS <--->MC112CS
