In 1770, the stronghold belonged to Étienne François de Bray. The castle is believed to have been built in the 17th century. In 1862, Thoré belonged to Henri Cochard - Director of Indirect Contributions in Châteauroux - who had it remodeled in 1865. With Manoir de Bois Pataud à Bléré, in 1891 the manor passed into the hands of his daughter, Louise Hélène Roux, wife of  the composer Fernand Maurice Burdin d'Entremont
