1968 PEGGY FLEMING OLYMPIC SKATER, KHE SANH, MCCNAMARA, WASHINGTON. This auction is for a magazine entitled, “Life,” dated February
23, 1968 with a cover image of Olympic Skating champion, Peggy Fleming after
she won the gold medal for figure skating.
It measures 13 ¾” high x 10 ½” wide (80 pages) and includes a profile
piece on Peggy Fleming, Khe Sanh (Vietnam), Robert MccNamara, Hawaii’s Kilauea
volcano, General Washington, McDougall papers, etc. Period advertisements inside include: Ford, Simmons, Lucky Strike, Bisquick,
Camaro, Hormel, Jockey, Glasspar, Zenith, Calvert, Volkswagon, GE, Western
Motel, Chesterfield, Kroehler, Admiral TV, Nestle, Salem, Nabisco, Marlboro,
Ford, GE Whirlpool, Contact, Lark, Quaker State, Morton, RCA, Sugar
Information, Chrysler, Seagram and Viceroy.
It is in good condition with no
rips/tears/missing pages (small tears along bottom of the Washington article),
the previous owner wrote on the cover and the staple binding is firmly in tact. It
is in good condition for its age with some small tears, no missing pages and
