■ Vintage Japanese Apron Indigo “ MAEKAKE “Long Tradition Fish Cake Co.with 2 pockets BORO Sashiko

This Indigo Maekake is a vintage item from Kanetetsu, a traditional Japanese Kamaboko < fish cake > company founded in Kobe in 1926, with the mascot character "Tetsu chan" printed on it, which was created in 1951. Today, Kanetetsu Delica Foods Co., Ltd. has grown into a large food company in Japan.

In the past, most Japanese merchants wore these MAEKAKE, including liquor stores, rice shops, miso shops, soy sauce shops, and grocery stores. Of course, we still see them today, but they have become less common over time.

Recommended for waiters waitresses and store clerks. Also recommended for people whose name is Tetsu.

The last image shows Sabu chan ( the order-taking round boy ) of the liquor store "Mikawaya" from the national anime " Sazae-san ".
