Refurbishment Program - Increase RAM to at least 2GB (4GB in this laptop)
- Wipe hard drive and perform a clean "bloatware-free" install of W10 Pro 64 Bit
- Visual inspection of laptop for damage - repair or replace broken and missing parts as appropriate. Report items that are less than perfect
- Open the laptop and check all the internal connections
- Gently hoover dust from inside especially from fan / heatsink
- Remove the heatsink assembly. Clean off the old thermal paste and replace with new - oil fan rotor and ensure smooth operation
- Carefully torque down the heatsink - check CPU core temperatures are well within safe range
- Clean keyboard with a toothbrush and IPA to remove all grease, hairs and fingerprints etc.
- Clean exterior plastics and remove scratches with hob cleaner (yes really!)
- Use touch-up pen on larger scratches and "back to black" wax for blemishes
- Clean screen with special LCD wipes
- Final clean and polish before listing on EBay!
- In my experience the biggest cause of failure for these Thinkpads is overheating caused by fan vents blocked up with fluff etc. or dried out thermal paste or BOTH! These issues are easily fixed by opening the laptop and removing the fan / heatsink assembly, giving it a good clean and lubrication and cleaning off / replacing the thermally conductive heat compound. These simple actions can add years to the life of your average laptop!!! Heat is the enemy! Good cooling is your friend. This laptop is now running at less than 40 degrees at idle!! Very cool for a dual core 2.40 GHz
You can always find cheaper similar laptops on EBay - you can even buy a brand new (low spec) laptop from Comet etc. but please understand that I spend many hours on each project (see list above) and you will be getting a first class refurbished machine that will give you great service and if treated with care and respect will last many years. I specialise only in Lenovo Thinkpads - particularly X61, X61S, X61 tablet, X200, X200S, X200T, T61, R61, Z61, T400, X300, X301 and T500. I am offering here another Lenovo T410 laptop with the 14.1 inch wide 16:10 ratio screen format! This particular laptop has been well treated and it's in really nice condition! The battery on this particular laptop is a 47Wh integrated type with at least 23Wh charge remaining and will provide between 1 and 2 hours of mobile computing - depending on the application. New non-OEM batteries are available for about £15 from various sources. The T410 is a lovely laptop and a significant improvement on the classic T400 - its amazing predecessor. The graphics are much improved and the screen brightness is very good with LED backlighting. A fast WIFI link makes this model great for the internet and a clear bright 1280 by 800 pixel screen gives a marvellous viewing experience. All in all this laptop is perfect for just about any application and this one really is in great condition and it comes loaded with great software.
This is a lovely clean laptop with the usual excellent build quality. It's absolutely perfect for business use, or studying or just browsing the internet, playing music, movies etc. A great laptop to replace your ageing home computer? Unlike the X series (ultraportable) these laptops do actually have an integrated CD / DVD Drive. Expansion capability is provided by the "Docking Station" accessory (not included) which allows great port expansion - good ones can be bought on Ebay for about fifteen pounds (honestly). Alternatively with three built-in USB ports available, a variety of Flash Drives or external CD/DVD Readers or Writers can easily be connected - this laptop has the power to drive them all. The Laptop comes with a fair battery and also an AC power supply / charger block.

I have cleaned the laptop inside and out and everything works perfectly as it should - the cooling fan / heatsink has been cleaned and new thermal paste has been applied; good cooling is important because there is a lot of power in these laptops. The Windows 10 operating system runs great on these laptops and is "feature rich". There is nothing more that can be done to this computer except to turn it on and enjoy its great performance. The quality of Thinkpads speaks for itself and spare parts, memory and / or disk upgrades are readily available on EBay. Weighs just 2.5 Kg (!!) including the battery and when released these laptops sold for £1800 upwards (no kidding)!

I am a qualified electronics / test engineer working in manufacturing - recently retired early - and I really enjoy diagnosing and fixing Lenovo laptops. My passion is refurbishment and I pay great attention to detail. I do not sell on any laptop that I am not totally happy with and I am dedicated to preventing these lovely machines from going to landfill! If I can make a small profit on each laptop then I can continue with this process. I am a one man band and do not compete with some of the larger sellers on Ebay - but I like to think I offer a personal service and I am always available to offer advice about laptops, electronics etc.
I have been asked by some buyers about warranty - well these laptops are over ten years old and are still running well. As a sole trader I cannot really offer a comprehensive warranty it's not possible or practical. However if the laptop fails within 14 days through no fault of the buyer then of course I will consider repair or replacement. I will always offer a honourable solution. I can also often repair Thinkpad problems at a very competitive rate.
This is another superb laptop for a fair price with lovely clear screen and good graphics. This is a powerful and clean machine with a good 2.40 GHz i5 Dual Core and 4GB of RAM, WIFI, - perfect for any home or office situation.
