This super-high quality umbrella is likely from 1972, when NBC Sports began using the pointy N logo, which is printed in 4 places around the canopy. It is such a heavy duty umbrella that I can’t imagine it was a gift store item. It was more likely to be used by on-air reporters during outdoor sporting events. It could be just for golf events, since umbrellas are famously associated with that sport, but for some reason I think this umbrella was more multi-sport.
It is 3 feet tall. Approximately 4 feet in diameter when open. Hardwood handle, steel mechanics, tent-like fabric. Speckled here and there with dark specks which are not so bad as to detract much from this spectacular umbrella.
Any TV sports nut needs this in their collection!
