HEARTBEAT by Thomas Smith has been honored as Award-Winning Finalist in the 2014 International Book Awards! HEARTBEAT: Musings on Leather and Leadership is a collection of provocative essays and is a look into the vibrant leather community and a great resource whether you are part of the leather community or simply like to learn about new cultures and explore. The book is based on the author's experience spanning over thirty plus years as a community leader. This book takes a look into the leather tribe, traditions, history and leadership. The book puts a human face on a subject often perceived as risque. Inside perspective and practical tips are delivered and are meaningful to those interested in being better community leaders. The book is especially relevant to those working with clubs, organizations, non-profits, and to improve individual skills and knowledge in the leather counter-culture. This book is based on the traditions of the 'unbroken chain' where those that go before pass on their expertise and knowledge to those who are coming up.
Thomas Smith's dedication, leadership and passion are shown in his thirty plus years of community engagement and achievements: as a club leader, titleholder, writer, and presenter.
